What a find! The offered sign originates from the Estate of Clifford Roberts' longtime secretary Kathryn Murphy. This is an original circa 1970s-80s bar sign from the Masters Tournament. Patrons of the Masters Tournament surely remember the lone bar that was placed just between the merchandise tent and the first tee at Augusta National at each Masters Tournament. During one such demolition of that bar (and other temporary structures built for the Masters Tournament), Kathryn Murphy was on hand to survey the destruction. This can be seen in the personal photos of Murphy depicted in this lot (hard copies not included in this auction lot).

Kathryn Murphy managed to salvage one of our favorite signs that we've ever offered - this original bar sign from a Masters Tournament in the 1960s or 1970s. The sign measures 19 1/4" x 12" and reads "The Bar will Close 45 Minutes After Play Is Over."

We can't think of a cooler sign to have in your home bar!
