We got to know Tiger's former swing coach Hank Haney after our historic sale of the Tiger Slam irons for over $5 million. We reached out to Hank and our pitch was simple - if you own any clubs of Tiger's, the collecting community would appreciate it even more than you will. Tiger's biggest fans around the globe would love a chance to own something like this. To our delight, Hank Haney agreed, and over the course of a couple years, shipped to us the only 3 wedges of Tigers that he owns, and simply said "good luck with the auction, let me know how it goes."

Offered here is Tiger Woods' personal custom Nike 60 degree wedge directly from Hank Haney. This wedge was custom made for Tiger Woods and, according to Haney, was hand ground by Mike Taylor at The Oven for Nike.

The wedge has a very interesting history. Tiger gave it to Hank Haney while they were in Tiger's home garage where Tiger always kept his clubs. The reason Tiger gave it to Haney was so that Haney himself could practice with it and get a feel for the grind, the club's impact with the ground, etc. Haney then used the testing of this wedge to help Tiger with his short game.

What a historic club! Not only is it Tiger's personal wedge, but it was also actively used by Hank Haney while he helped guide Tiger to his success with Haney (6 of his Major Championships came during their professional relationship).

Here is a complete transcript of Hank Haney's handwritten letter that accompanies Tiger Woods' Nike wedge:

This custom wedge was given to me by Tiger Woods while I was his swing coach from 2004-2010. The wedge is a 60 degree wedge that was hand ground by Mike Taylor at Nike. I received this club from Tiger when we were in his home garage with his other clubs at Isleworth in Orlando. The reason Tiger gave it to me was so that I could practice with it to get a feel for the grind, the clubs impact with the ground, etc.

Testing this wedge then helped me when Tiger and I worked together on his short game. I have owned this club for many years, and I am happy to allow it to find a new home with someone that will appreciate it.

All the best, Hank Haney
