4 Vintage Freddie Tait Photos
w/ Scarce Tait Autograph
Admittedly the word "rare" gets thrown around too much when describing
memorabilia. But offered here is an item that's about as rare as it gets - a
original photograph that contains a scarce original autograph of the great Freddie Tait.
Few autographs of the 1896 and 1898 British Amateur Champ are known to exist
since Tait died almost 112 years ago!
Tate was one
of the most famous players of his day, and whose long drives were the stuff of
legend. Unfortunately, Tate died in his prime - shortly after his 30th birthday
- when he was killed in action during the Second Boer War in February 1900.
Since Tait's died almost 112 years ago, few pieces of Tait memorabilia exist
today. But offered here are 4 original Tait photographs that were obtained from
the Tait family. The photo of Freddie Tait in his Blackwatch
uniform contains Tait's own writing and signature on the reverse.
The photos measure between 2 3/4" x 3"
to 2 1/2' x 4. Three of the photos show Tait playing and one is in his
Blackwatch uniform.
