         In this auction, we are fortunate to have some of the rarest Payne Stewart signed golf flags known in the hobby - including single-signed flags from his 1st two Major Championships, and one of the only-known flags from the 1999 Ryder Cup (Payne died a month after the '99 Ryder Cup).

        Offered here is an impossibly rare 1991 U.S. Open flag that has been single-signed by that year's Open Champ, Payne Stewart. For most collectors, this will be the very first time ever laying eyes on any 1991 U.S. Open flag, let alone one signed by the late Payne Stewart. Very few 1991 U.S. Open flags were ever produced, as this was a full decade before golf flags were regularly sold at PGA Tour events. While we've always known of the existence of this flag, of the 5000+ flags that Green Jacket Auctions has sold publicly and privately over the past 7 years, we have never sold a single 1991 U.S. Open flag of any kind. But this obviously isn't just any 1991 U.S. Open flag - it's the only single-signed flag from Payne Stewart's 2nd Major Championship that we know to exist.
