Al Geiberger's
1967 Champion's Dinner Silver Box
The
"Mr. 59" Al Geiberger Collection
In this auction, we have the extreme pleasure of offering virtually the entire
collection of "Mr. 59" Al Geiberger. Ryan and Bob recently flew out to Palm
Springs to shoot Mr. Geiberger and his collection for the Pilot episode of a new
reality TV show based on Green Jacket Auctions. While we were there, Al
Geiberger decided that rather than continuing to keep his collection packed away
in a California storage facility, he felt that it was his duty to share his
memorabilia with the world. Nothing was off limits to Green Jacket
Auctions. We came home with some of the most historic pieces of golf memorabilia
that we have ever offered, including Al Geiberger's Wannamaker Trophy and his
actual golf clubs from the 59 Round. We hope that you enjoy viewing - and
bidding on - the "Mr. 59" Al Geiberger collection.
1967 Champion's Dinner Silver Box
When 1966 PGA Champion Al
Geiberger returned to the 1967 PGA Championship, he hosted the annual Champions'
Dinner for the other living PGA Champs. As tradition has it, the defending
Champion presents each other Champion with a gift. Al Geiberger's gift to his
fellow PGA Champions at the 1967 Champions' Dinner was this Sterling Silver box.
This is Al Geiberger's personal box that he gave out as Champions' Dinner host.
This Sterling Silver box is 7 1/2"
long x 3 1/4" deep x 2" high. The box is in good condition, with a small rear
corner ding. It comes with a letter of authenticity from Al Geiberger himself.
