The Ryder Cup
Scarce 1920's Bobby Jones Audubon Society
Booklet
Presented
here is the scarce Bobby Jones Audubon Society book that has a cult-like
following among Bobby Jones collectors. It has been described by some as "the
rarest Bobby Jones book." This exceedingly rare book is undated but produced in
the 1920's, and few are known to exist. Due to their extreme rarity, it is
likely that very few were ever produced to begin with. It was produced by the
National Association of Audubon Societies titled "Golf Clubs as Bird
Sanctuaries." As you'll see in the book, Bobby Jones, along with famed
sportswriter Grantland Rice, was on the Audubon Society's "Golf Club Bird
Sanctuary Committee." This vintage booklet is 64 pages long.
The last copy to sell publicly sold for over $2200 at rare book purveyor PBA
Galleries in 2010.
