Significant Actual U.S. Open Scorecard
of Tiger Woods
Presented here is one of the earliest Tiger Woods signed scorecards ever
offered. At the U.S. Open each year, the defending U.S. Open Champion is always
paired with the reigning U.S. Amateur Champion for the first two rounds of the
event. At the 1996 U.S. Open, this tradition paired Corey Pavin with a young
Tiger Woods.
This is Corey Pavin's actual
scorecard from that historic pairing with a 20 year old Tiger Woods. And if it
is even possible to make this scorecard more significant, keep in mind that the
player's do not keep their own scores - they keep the score of their competitor.
So, with the exception of Pavin's signature and the USGA notes on the top right
corner, everything on this scorecard was written by Tiger Woods himself. This
scorecard is from the first round of the 1996 U.S. Open, which was held at
Oakland Hills, which is only the second full round that Tiger ever played in a
U.S. Open! Now that's history!
