Sunningdale Golf Club,

1900-2000

        Book: Sunningdale Golf Club, 1900-2000

        Edition/Year: 20o0, 1st Edition, Hardcover 211 pages

        Condition: very good

Notes: A heathland course outside London, Sunningdale is ranked by Golf Digest as #44 of the top 100 courses in the world. It has had the Prince of Wales and the Duke of York as captains of the club. Sunningdale has two great courses, one designed by former Open champion Willie Park Jr. and the other by H.S. Colt. Both are spectacular. It was on Sunningdale that Bobby Jones shot what has been described as the perfect round of golf. In an Open qualifying round in 1926 using hickory-shafted clubs Jones shot a 66 with 33 putts and 33 other strokes, with only 3s and 4s recorded. Jones's description of the round makes this one special book to have on the shelf.
