        As we approach our eighth year of golf auctions, it often takes a lot to surprise us - and this is especially true for Masters Tournament memorabilia.

        Well, this one shocked the hell out of us.

        We've always known that Augusta National previously issued stock to some of its members. And the market is littered with replica ANGC stock certificates. In fact EVERY SINGLE ONE we have ever seen or were presented for authentication have been FAKE. We have NEVER seen an authentic certificate until now. But until now, we were never sure that any of the original certificates still existed.

        Well here it is - an original 1944 stock certificate for Augusta National Golf Club. The certificate is authorized by none other than Bobby Jones himself, as President of The Augusta National, Inc. Jones' autograph is superb, as is the condition of this entire piece. Member's name has been redacted in the photo but remains on the actual certificate.
