Byron Nelson Wire Photo
As you've no doubt seen by now, this Winter Golf
Auction by Green Jacket Auctions represents one of the greatest sales of golf
photographs in history. From Old Tom Morris & the origins of professional golf
to Bobby Jones & the founding of Augusta National, many of the offered
photographs are among the finest such examples in the hobby.
This is an original 1937 photograph
of a young Byron Nelson - likely taken just after he won his first Major
Championship at the 1937 Masters Tournament. The photograph itself is stamped
May 4, 1937, so we know that the photo was taken at some point before then.
Beautiful image in nice condition and
a rare, early 7"x9" photo of Lord Byron. Reverse has a handwritten
identification and a stamp from NEA.
