Al Geiberger's
1974 Masters Tournament "Eagle" Crystal
”
Just mention the term "Masters Crystal" and golf collectors' eyes light up,
as it is among the most highly coveted of all Masters Tournament
memorabilia. For the uninitiated, the Masters Tournament famously issues
Stubben crystal to players who have the Day's Low Round or record an Eagle,
Hole in One, or, on a few rare occasions, a Double-Eagle. As far as
tournament gifts go, Masters Crystal has obtained almost mythical status
among collectors, as few examples have ever surfaced. Additionally, because
Augusta National showcases "blank" Masters Crystal on its website, in the
Masters Program, and on display in the Trophy Room at the Masters Tournament
each year, most collectors are unaware that the player-issued crystal is
etched with the player's name, tournament year and details of the
accomplishment.
Offered here is a pair of Eagle Crystals that were presented to Al Geiberger
at the 1974 Masters Tournament.
