Rare Early White Masters Flag
Signed by 29 Champions
Presented here is the rare unofficial White Masters Flag from the early 1990's.
Despite not being produced by Augusta National, this flag has long been
sought-after by collectors, as only 100 of them are believed to exist. Before
Augusta National ever sold a golf flag at the Masters Tournament, this flag was
created by an Ohio collector in the early 1990's for the purpose of obtaining
Masters Champions autographs; meaning that this collector had the idea of
creating a Masters flag years before The Masters Tournament even did.
Almost all of those 100 flags that
were produced were mailed to Masters Champions and it's that reason why these
rare flags are almost always found on the collector market single-signed by
former Masters Champions. The prior owner of this flag, however, has taken it a
step further and created what is almost certainly the finest White "Champs Flag"
in existence.
In all, an impressive 29 Masters
Champions have autographed this rare flag, including a couple that were no doubt
duped into signing it because the flag is white and not the familiar yellow
(we're looking at you Tom Watson and Fred Couples).
The 29 Masters Champions that have
autographed this flag include:
Jack Nicklaus
Arnold Palmer
Gary Player
