Ben Hogan
1920's Scottie Dog Advertising Figure
Offered here is one of the most famous golf
advertising figures in existence. This piece comes from one of the most
prominent golf advertising collections, and is among the finest such examples in
the world.
The “Scottie Dog” is an Advertisement
for the North British Twin Dot Golf Ball, and was made in Edinburgh, Scotland.
More than one version was produced, this being the highly desirable metal
version with the dog on a North British base.
Other examples of the famous Scottie
Dog figure (in our opinion, lesser examples) are prominently featured in the
following golf memorabilia books: Antique Golf Collectibles by Chuck
Furjanic; Golf Antiques by John and Mort Olman; and Golf Implements
and Golf Memorabilia by McGimpsey & Neech.
This original 90+ year old North
British “Scottie Dog” advertising figure is in excellent condition, and measures
13” tall.
