Dwight Eisenhower's Actual
Cherry Hills Country Club Scorecard
Presented here is President Dwight
Eisenhower's actual completely filled out and signed scorecard from a circa
1940's-50's round of golf at Cherry Hills Country Club in Colorado.
President Eisenhower is one of the
most famous golfers that ever lived, but we are unaware of any other used and
signed scorecards of Ike's to ever grace the auction block. Everything about
this scorecard is exceptional, including:
1. The entire scorecard is in Eisenhower's own hand, including his "DDE"
initials as well as his full "Dwight D. Eisenhower" signature.
2. Eisenhower played this round with the 1st Augusta National Head Pro and 15
time PGA Tour winner Ed Dudley.
3.Eisenhower played this round at one of the Top 100 golf courses in the
country, Cherry Hills Country Club.
4. Eisenhower played what he writes on the scorecard itself was "my best golf
day this year" - and shot a 77 on a difficult Cherry Hills course - and beat
Dudley (his golf instructor!) for one of the only times in his iife. Keep in
mind, Dudley was a 15 time winner on the PGA Tour and 3 time Ryder Cup
participant.
5. Likely solely because of Eisenhower's stellar round (and Ike's rare defeat of
Dudley), Eisenhower inscribed and autographed this scorecard for Dudley.
6. This scorecard comes from the personal collection of the late Ed Dudley, who
cherished this piece for his entire life.
