Handmade Merion Golf Club
Wicker Basket
With Merion Golf Club re-introducing itself to the world last year at the U.S.
Open, golf fans (and collectors) cannot stop talking about Merion's famed wicker
basket standards, which it uses in place of pin flags. Since course-used wicker
baskets from Merion are virtually impossible to obtain, one local golfer took it
upon himself to create a handmade replica. This outstanding replica has the
look, feel and craftsmanship of Merion's own wicker basket standards - without
costing $10,000 to obtain one. For the golfer who has everythng, this wicker standard is hand made in the USA, crafted from natural round reed wicker, and has an all-metal pole. It also comes with a6 inch aluminum cup that conforms to USGA standards and a stand to hold the cup for indoot display. The basket and pole measure 7 feet tall and the basket itself measures 14 inches. This full size replica wicker basket even comes
with a handmade protective custom embroidered presentation bag.
