Jack Nicklaus

Wanamaker Trophy

Authorized Major Championship Trophies are produced for only two reasons - when a golfer wins a Major Championship, or when an authorized copy is needed for a museum. Surely neither of those two scenarios ever result in a trophy being offered for public sale.

        Well, maybe until now...

Offered here is not just any PGA Championship trophy - this is an official Wanamaker Trophy produced for Jack Nicklaus.

Back in the early 2000's, an impressive private golf club was being built on the East Coast, which featured 36 holes - 18 designed by Jack Nicklaus and 18 designed by Arnold Palmer. As part of the club, a museum was planned to commemorate the achievements of Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer. The centerpiece of that museum was to be one of each Major Championship trophy, which would be secured by Jack Nicklaus.

The authorization for this official PGA Championship Wanamaker Trophy was obtained by Jack Nicklaus himself. The trophy was authorized by the PGA of America, and was produced by the PGA's official trophy producer, Fairway Presentation Ltd.

This Jack Nicklaus Wanamanker Trophy is engraved with the name and dates of each of Mr. Nicklaus' five PGA Championship victories - 1963, 1971, 1973, 1975 & 1980.

This sterling silver PGA Championship trophy comes with an exceptional amount of provenance, including its original receipt, original estimate, correspondence regarding authorization and Mr. Nicklaus' involvement, and a letter of authenticity from the company who owns the golf course where the museum was planned.

This 50% scale Wanamaker Trophy is the exact same as the Wanamaker trophies produced for players, and identical copies are currently on display at the Jack Nicklaus Museum at Ohio State University and at Muirfield Village. Trophy is 15 1/2" high and measures 10" from handle to handle.
