Ben Hogan
Caroline Berckmans'
Daughters of the American Revolution
1940 Certificate
Offered here is a piece that will surely interest an early Augusta National
collector. Bobby Jones' famous Augusta National property was purchased from the
Berckmans family in 1931. This included the Berckmans family home, Fruitland
Manor, which is now known throughout the world at the Augusta National
clubhouse. The Berckmans family didn't just sell the land to Augusta National,
they did the original landscaping for the course and received Masters tickets to
the first few Masters Tournaments.
Presented here is an original 1940
Daughters of the American Revolution certificate issued to the Berckmans
daughter, Caroline, who was a fixture at early Masters Tournaments.
