1927 Ryder Cup Team Victory

Wire Photo (1st Ryder Cup!)

In 1927, the first official Ryder Cup Matches were held at Worcester Country Club in Massachusetts. Playing Captain Walter Hagen led the American squad to a resounding 9 1/2 to 2 1/2 victory.

This is a rare original photograph from the trophy ceremony after the 1927 Ryder Cup. This original 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" photograph depicts Walter Hagen holding the Ryder Cup and being flanked by his American Team, which included Horton Smith, Johnny Farrell, Gene Sarazen, Leo Diegel, Joe Turnesa, Al Espinosa and others.

This original 1927 photograph is in excellent condition except for a missing section in the upper right corner.
