1898 Photo of Tom Stewart

and Staff Clubmakers

        Offered here is a rare original 1898 photograph of the great St. Andrews clubmaker Tom Stewart and his staff. Though many Americans best know Tom Stewart for his association with and clubmaking for Bobby Jones, this photograph from 1898 depicts a 36 year old Tom Stewart an incredible 32 years before Bobby Jones won the Grand Slam with Stewart's irons. This 116 year old photograph measures 8 3/8" x 6" and is mounted on a board which measures 8 x 11". The reverse of this photo is marked Market St. St. Andrews, which is where Stewart's shop must've been located.
