1929 Ryder Cup Gathering Signed Photo
-Hagen, Vardon, Ray, Herd, Braid
A remarkable
photograph studio mounted by Alfred Rushbrook, Edinburgh depicts we believe
a gathering of players many of whom took part in the very first Ryder Cup
held in England in 1929. Pictured and signing are participants-Playing
Captain Walter Hagen Leo Diegel, Johnny Farrell and Al Watrous, as well as
golf great Jim Barnes. But even more impressive is the British contingent of
golf luminaries who have hand signed this great piece. They include Harry
Vardon, James Braid, Ted Ray, and Alex Herd. Some of the signatures are
faint but still readable and to be expected from an 85 year old photo.
