1949 Masters Tournament
Saturday & Sunday Pairing Sheets

As anyone who has attended the Masters knows, Augusta National provides each spectator with complimentary daily pairings sheets, which inform patrons as what time each player is teeing off. In fact, this practice was invented at The Masters.

Presented here are very early Saturday and Sunday Pairings Sheets from the 1949 Masters Tournament. The 1949 Masters Tournament is one of the most famous tournaments in Masters history, as Sam Snead won his first Masters and, more importantly, was the first person ever awarded the Green Jacket. While now widely considered one of the most significant "trophies" in all of sport, back then it was simply a curious green blazer that was awarded to the winner. Vintage Masters Pairings Sheets are rare for a basic reason - as you can imagine, not many of these simple pieces of paper were saved over the years.
