Old Tom Morris
1860s Long Nose Play Club

Old Tom Morris is one of the most iconic figures in golf history. No golf collection can be considered serious or complete without Morris' name attached to several key pieces. Since golf collecting started approximately a century ago, perhaps the most consistently sought-after piece of memorabilia over that time is a golf club made by Old Tom Morris.

This circa 1860s play club (driver) is in exquisite condition with a beautiful dark stained beech head with wonderful patina. The club has an impeccable horn and clean unmarked face and shows a strong T. Morris stamp on the crown. The shaft is straight as an arrow with hardly a sign of use. The grip is a period replacement. Has been in private hands since purchased in the July 16, 1991 Philips North West golf auction. Club measures 44 1/4".
