Phil Mickelson’s Scorecard
from 1990 U.S. Open
(Phil’s 1st Major!)
Offered here is a rare piece of memorabilia for collectors of future Hall of Famer Phil Mickelson. This is the actual scorecard of Phil Mickelson from the 2nd Round of the 1990 U.S. Open, which was held at Medinah.
Obviously any scorecard of Mickelson’s from a Major Championship would be highly desirable, but this scorecard comes from the very first Major Championship that Mickelson ever competed in. As you can see on the scorecard, the young Mickelson shot a 71 in the 2nd round – en route to the a 29th place finish that won Mickelson “Low Amateur” honors.
This scorecard has, of course, been signed by Mickelson in the “Competitor’s Signature” space. Mickelson was only 19 years old during the 2nd round of the 1990 U.S. Open; he actually turned 20 years old one day later – on the day of the 3rd round of this same tournament.
