Sir Francis Grant’s 1874 oil painting of John Whyte Melville is among the most classic golf works in history, and is owned by the Royal & Ancient. Offered here is an original oil painting copying Grant’s famous painting.  We estimate this to have been done within the last 50 years or so. Though the age and patina give it that Old World Charm of a mid 19th century classic. There are some scuff marks on the canvass that could easily be repaired by most any artist familiar with oils. An inexpensive way to add a Classic painting to your collection.  12 x 16” canvas framed to an overall size of 21 x 25”.
