Lot Description  

 High Grade Gutta Percha

Forgan Mesh or Random Mesh Pattern

This rare ball was moulded to resemble the then-popular hand-hammered gutta percha pattern - known as the Forgan Mesh or Random Mesh. According to golf ball expert Kevin McGimpsy, this was probably made by Alex Patrick. This exact ball is pictured in his book The Story of the Golf Ball on Plate III.
