1968 Crump Tournament Trophy Plate
Named for George Arthur Crump and played on the grounds of legendary Pine Valley Golf Club, which Crump founded, The Crump Cup has been contested every year since it’s inception in 1922. It is a prestigious invitational golf tournament for amateurs with a four-day format that includes two rounds of stroke play qualifying, followed by four rounds of match play. Trophies and items relating to the tournament are scarce. The trophy salver is 9" in diameter and weighs 398 grams.
Offered here is a sterling silver "Runner Up" Trophy Plate that dates to the 1968 playing of the Crump Cup. The Trophy Plate shows an image of the #6 Green at Pine Valley and is stamped “J.E. Caldwell & Co.”.
