Qualifying Rounds Medal
William K. Lanman was a prominent philanthropist and WWII aviator that was a former Captain of the Yale Golf Team. He would later bestow $40 million to the University he loved. Lanman was also an accomplished amateur player who kept improving the more he aged, so much so that he received the Low Scorer Qualifying Rounds Medal at the 1960 U.S. Senior Amateur. He would also finish Runner Up in the 1961 Senior U.S. Amateur. Presented here is the Sterling Silver Medal awarded to William K. Lanman in 1960 from the USGA.
