Historic Display of 1930 Walker Cup Team
w/ Signatures from Entire Team w/ Bobby Jones & Francis Ouimet
What a beauty! Offered here is a single piece of paper that contains autographs of the entire historic 1930 Walker Cup Team. The 1930 Walker Cup team was one of the greatest international squads ever assembled, and included Bobby Jones, Francis Ouimet, George Von Elm, and Harrison Johnston. Quite significantly, Bobby Jones participating in the 1930 Walker Cup (as playing Captain) allowed the USGA to pay for Bobby Jones' travel expenses to Europe so that the amateur Jones could play in the Walker Cup - and just so happen to play in the Open Championship while he was over there. Without that 1930 voyage, there would be no Grand Slam and the legend of Bobby Jones would be just a little dimmer.
The fact that a single piece of paper contains all 8 autographs of the 1930 Walker Cup team is extraordinary. It has been professionally framed (without glass) alongside a team photo to an overall size of 24" x 17".
Letter of Authenticity from Green Jacket Auctions (GJA).
