Harry Vardon Handwritten 1909 Letter

This is an exceptional handwritten letter of Harry Vardon from 1909. A majority of Vardon autographs that we encounter are from after his playing days were complete, but the offered letter is during the heart of Vardon's storied career. In fact, his gorgeous letterhead only displays his 4 Open Championship medals, as in 1909 he had no yet won his 5th and 6th Open Championships (in 1911 and 1914).

The letter is written entirely in Harry Vardon's own hand, and discusses courses he is going to visit for golf course design purposes. The letter contain a high grade "Harry Vardon" signature. This letter is professionally framed (without glass) alongside a stereoview card picturing Vardon's famous grip. Overall size is 17.5" x 24".

Letter of Authenticity from Green Jacket Auctions (GJA).
