Tournament-Used Pin Flag from 1973 PGA Championship
Signed by Winner Jack Nicklaus
To flag collectors, the 1973 PGA Championship flag is legendary. For tournament-used golf flags, its design was far ahead of its time in 1973. In the early 1970s tournament-used flags were, at worst, blank and, at best, uninspired. But the 1973 PGA Championship was - and still is - a thing of beauty.
Perhaps even more importantly, this beautiful flag comes from a Major Championship won by Jack Nicklaus. Few tournament-used Major Championship flags from Jack Nicklaus' Major victories have ever been offered for sale (See Summer 2012 Auction: 1978 Open Championship Flag sold for $9,156).
This is the actual 2nd hole pin flag from the 1973 PGA Championship at Canterbury. It has been autographed by Jack Nicklaus.
