Picture Analysis of Golf Strokes
by Jim Barnes
Presented here is a rare copy of Picture Analysis Of Golf Strokes by four-time Major Champion James M. “Long Jim” Barnes. This is a 1919 First Edition printing of the book.
Barnes was a terrific, but under publicized champion from the early 1900’s, accomplishing a great deal in a short 10-year span. He won the first two PGA Championships to ever be played, an Open Championship, as well as the 1921 U.S. Open Championship, during which he won by 9 shots - a record not broken until Tiger Woods came to Pebble Beach in 2000. Picture Analysis of Golf Strokes was one of two very collectible books penned by Barnes and it contains 252 total pages loaded with photos. This particular copy has a spine that is a bit loose, but should be classified in overall good condition. Gilchrist’s Guide to Golf Collectibles lists the value at $150.
