How to Play Golf
by H. J. Whigham
Henry James Whigham was a Scottish writer and highly skilled amateur golfer of his era. At the urging and arrangement of Charles Blair Macdonald, Whigham traveled to America to demonstrate golf at the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. That trip to America proved extremely timely and beneficial for Whigham, as just a few years later he would claim victory in back-to-back (1896 & 1897) United States Amateur Championships and go on to marry Macdonald’s daughter. Presented here is an 1898 Fourth Printing of How to Play Golf by H.J. Whigham. There were only 1000 copies printed and this one displays in good overall condition and includes an 1898 update.
