Wonderful Photograph of
1883 Open Champion Willie Fernie & Sons

Offered here is a rare original photograph of 1883 Open Champion Willie Fernie. Fernie, who also finished runner-up in the Open in 1882, 1884, 1890 and 1891, is pictured holding his dog alongside his sons Tom and Harry. Tom and Harry were also accomplished golfers. They both famously withdrew from 1924 Open Championship qualifying when receiving word of their ill father. Willie Fernie would die 2 days later.

This photograph measures 4" x 6", and is a rare surviving example of an early photograph of the great 1882 Open Champ Willie Fernie.
