Historic and Only Known Photograph of
Harry Vardon, Willie Smith and J.H. Taylor
from Vardon's Historic 1900 US Tour

The only known original photograph of Harry Vardon, Willie Smith, and J.H. Taylor together in 1900 during Vardon's historic US Tour. This image has appeared several times in books, but until now, no original example of this photograph was known to exist.

Formerly owned by noted golf photo collector David Scott Chisholm, it was purchased privately in 1978. This photo has been overseas for decades. Though the subjects are Scottish all by heritage, this photo marks a very important part of American golf history, so we're please to have it back Stateside. Taken during Vardon’s historic American Tour of 1900, it features these three legendary golfers sitting together against a blank background. Thought to have been taken at the U.S Open held October 4–5 at Chicago Golf Club in Wheaton, Illinois, it should be considered one of the most important photographs in U.S. Golfing history. This original photograph measures 8x10".
