1930s "Play Golf "Tabletop Arcade Machine
It was hard to contain our excitement when we located this piece - an original 1930s "Play Golf" tabletop arcade game. Truth be told, we would be willing to spend a few thousand dollars on any original 1930s "Play Golf" game. But just take a look at this beauty!
When introduced in 1931, Play Golf became an instant money maker for bars and golf shops. It could average $1 an hour when in action, which was considered a big success for its operators. The front is 18 gauge steel finished with porcelain enamel.
This exquisite game is approximately 80-85 years old, yet the offered example is in near mint condition. It goes without saying that this "Play Golf" game was never used, as intended, at a bar or golf shop. There are only 7 original "Play Golf" machines in existence today. We can only presume that this is the finest example remaining in the hobby.
