Historic 1820 Leith Thistle Golf Club Scorecard
- One of Oldest Known Scorecards

In the 1990s, a treasure trove of historic 19th century golf documents from the Thistle Golf Club of Leith was discovered. In that collection, several 19th century scorecards were found. Dating primarily to the 1820s, they were all the oldest known golf scorecards by nearly 4 decades!

Offered here is one of those historic scorecards. This 1820 Thistle Golf Club of Leith scorecard is one of the oldest golf scorecards in existence. It was used during Thistle Golf Club's Winter Prize Medal match on December 2, 1820 - nearly two centuries ago. The scorecard is signed by the golfer, who shot an 82 over Thistle's 10 holes. He also added the handwritten inscription "Dreadful storm of wine and rain - the atmosphere dark yellow just like Pandamonium." What a lovely day for golf!

The scorecard measures 3" x 4 1/2", and is professionally framed with conservation glass to 7 1/2" x 9 1/2".
