In the 1930s, Silvertown created a special series of golf balls celebrating the company's history and the changes of the golf ball over the years. The release was called the "Cavalcade of Golf." One such ball was a smooth gutta percha golf ball marked "Silvertown" on one pole and "Maker of the Silver King" on the other. These 1930 smooth gutties are extremely difficult to find, as very few were ever produced. Even though this smooth gutty was not made in the 1840s, it's one of the only chances that collectors will every have to own an authentic smooth gutty in order to properly show the evolution of the golf ball. Offered here is a fine example.
