Here is a wonderful example of an early Tom Morris long nose spoon that dates from the mid 1860s. The club head, shaft and grip appear to be totally original with the exception of 1/4" of replacement whipping that was added to the lower part of the splice. Careful examination of the face and leading edge of the ram's horn on the sole shows very little wear, and overall the club shows minimal use. Compared to other Morris Long nose clubs, the head is quite large and measures a full 1 3/4" across the crown. The ultra desirable golden finish is mostly intact although there are areas that have faded. Also the sheepskin grip has several spots where the wool underlisting is exposed. 43 1/2".
