In 1929, the US Amateur headed west for the very first time to Pebble Beach. Shocking, Bobby Jones would miss the cut and not play on the weekend. This ended up being great news for the golf world, as Jones filled that void by visiting Cypress Point for the first time. He fell in love with the course and sought out the designer Alister MacKenzie when Jones wanted to build his dream course, Augusta National. And, as they say, the rest is history...

This is a hard to find original photograph of Jones from that 1929 US Amateur. Since the tournament was held on the west coast, and due to the fact that Jones was not in contention, it is quite difficult to locate images of Jones from the 1929 Amateur. 8" x 9".
