In 1897, the Royal & Ancient codified its rules of golf. Then, over the next 30 years, these R&A rules started gaining in prominence and we gradually used by other clubs for their golf tournaments. For rather obvious reasons, original rule books from before the R&A's Rules of Golf were widely adopted are extremely rare. Offered here is not only one of the earliest copies of the R&A's Rules of Golf - from 1909 - it is also one of the finest condition examples in the entire hobby.
