A Fine Heavy Iron, ca. 1830. This iron is a perfect match to accompany an old Philp or Jackson club of the feather ball era. With a thick and heavy blade, this example has well defined "hammer-weld" marks as a result of the heating and shaping of the metal, and a joint created. The hosel bears deep knicking, and the grip appears to be an original sheepskin. The club is free of damage or signs of cleaning. 36 3/4"
