One-piece golf clubs were produced for a very brief period of time in the mid to late 1890s, and had completely fizzled out by 1904. Though a few manufacturers tried their hands at one-piece clubs, the most collectible examples are those marked either “Dunn” or “The Spalding”.

Offered here is a fine example of “The Spalding” one-piece driver. One-piece clubs are naturally condition sensitive. The club is in very good condition, with a beautiful leather insert on its face. “The Spalding” is easily readable on the top of the head. The shaft is also stamped "The Spalding." 43". Missing whipping with replacement grip.

Not only is this one-piece The Spalding club in excellent condition, it is exceptionally rare. “Spalding listed one-piece clubs only in their 1898 catalog.” Clubmaker’s Art (Second Edition) by Jeffery Ellis, page 172.
