This is a scarce early Augusta National/Masters Tournament post card depicting Bobby Jones on the green. The post card is postmarked 1941, but the image is rare one from Frank Christian, Sr. from the 1934 Masters Tournament. It is also interesting to note that the caption is not for Augusta National Golf Club, but Augusta National "Golf Course". An excellent piece of early Masters Tournament memorabilia.
**We heard from Frank Christian, Jr., whose father took this photograph. Apparently during the Wednesday practice round before the first Masters Tournament, Bobby Jones felt that the media was just standing around and not enjoying themselves. To create excitement, Bobby Jones and Ed Dudley played an informal match against Dick Metz and Ky Laffoon. This photo is from that historic match.
