In 1892, Willie Park produced the first offset blade putter. A radical idea when introduced, the "wry-neck" or "swan neck" putter ranks as one of the most popular innovations ever made in putter design. (The Clubmaker's Art (2nd Ed.) by Jeffery B. Ellis). But Willie Park's patent called for a blade putter. A clubmaker named Charles Brand had the idea for the offset mallet putter, which he produced out of wood in the 1890s.

In 1909, Joe Anderson, a clubmaker located on St. John street in Perth produced the first offset aluminum mallet head putter. Offered here is an original circa 1909 Joe Anderson swan neck aluminum head putter. This putter contains an original "PERTH" stamped shaft.
