This is a sterling silver vesta (match safe), which is hallmarked
Birmingham 1894. Engraving shows that it was later given as a golf award
by the Douglas Golf Club in 1922. Excellent condition with normal signs
of wear. Tight hinge and closes well. 1" x 1 1/2". Recently there have
been fake vestas proliferating the market, but this is an exceptional
original.
