Offered here is an original 1891 panoramic photograph of Old Tom Morris refereeing a match at St. Andrews involving Ben Sayers and Andrew Kirkaldy. Old Tom can be seen confidently tugging at his jacket in the center of this photo. The reverse of this exceptional photograph contains extensive annotations about this September 9, 1891 match and the golfers' earlier match at North Berwick. This match also famously involved a violent altercation on a green as to whether a weed picked up by Sayers was growing or lying on the ground.

This photograph was part of the historic "Stable Find" that unearthed original photographs that were once owned by Old Tom Morris himself, and then passed down in the Auchterlonie family.
