Offered here is a rare early 1900s face stamped smooth face iron. Surely produced before face grooves were fully understood in the early 1900s, this club exhibits a highly unusual face stamp. The stamp is for Eugene K. McCarthy of Hollywood Golf Club in Deal, NJ. The consigner has seen many thousands of clubs in his 40 years of collecting but has never seen another iron with maker’s name stamped on the FACE, nor have we making this truly rare and perhaps unique.  36 5/8".
