Offered here is a circa 1896 scorecard from Shinnecock Hills Golf Club. This scorecard is hand dated 1896, which would date it to only 4 years after the club opened and same year the US Open and US Amateur were played at Shinnecock for the 1st time. Most significantly, this is perhaps the only known Shinnecock scorecard (unless Shinnecock has one?) that depicts the famous course as only 12 holes. Shinnecock was expanded to 18 holes shortly after it opened, so few, if any, other 12 hole scorecards are likely to exist.
