This is an image we've all seen many times before, as it has been reproduced many times over the years. But offered here is an original 1914 mezzotint artist's proof that is autographed by the artist.

 

This early 20th century mezzotint reproduces from the famous oil painting by Sir John Watson Gordon of John Taylor, Captain of the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers. Taylor, depicting in his red Captain's jacket with his caddie by his side, is one of the most iconic early images of golf. 

 

The artist who produced this 1914 mezzotint of John Taylor, "Honourable Company Of Edinburgh Golfers" is Will Henderson, who has signed the bottom of this artist's proof. 

 

Framed to 28" x 22". Contains its original certificate of authenticity from over 100 years ago!
