This is a truly exceptional letter. In this 1987 letter, a young Payne Stewart's writes to Augusta National Golf Club's Kathryn Murphy with a request as to the method of payment for his winnings for his T42 finish in the 1987 Masters Tournament. The funny part about this letter, admittedly with the benefit of hindsight and the success that would come to Payne, is that Payne Stewart's winnings for this tournament were a seemingly paltry $3,333. This letter comes directly from the Estate of longtime Augusta National employee Kathryn Murphy. Payne Stewart's social security number has been cut out of his letter.
